Warhammer Skills

The Warhammer Skills Development Programme provides easy to use and structured support for the skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or any Scouting Top Award. Explorer Scouts can also use this programme for the Creative Arts Activity Badge too!

About the programme

The Warhammer Skills Development Programme can be used by beginners or those who want to continue with their Warhammer journey and is centred around the goals and outcomes of each young person participating. It can be completed in any UK Warhammer store, or in their own Warhammer club!* Every registered candidate is supplied with a helpful workbook that will guide them and their chosen assessor throughout the process.

The programme booklet helps you choose the right Warhammer models for your project and what equipment you’ll need to create your own unique achievements. If you are completing the award in store, our helpful staff will demonstrate new techniques and help you document and learn new skills with each visit.

*Please note that the Warhammer Alliance will only provide an assessors report to candidates who have done the majority of the award in a Warhammer store.

Who can participate

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The DofE is the world’s leading youth achievement award, giving millions of 14-24 year olds the opportunity to be the very best they can be.

There are three levels of the programme that can lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The main differences between them are the minimum length of time they take to complete, how challenging they are and the minimum age you can start. Each award requires young people to develop themselves in four areas.

To find out more about the award visit the DofE website.

Explorer Scouts

Explorer Scout groups are for young people aged 14 to 18 years old. With the direction and guidance of Unit Leaders, Explorer Scouts are encouraged to lead themselves, design their own programme and work on developing skills for life.

The Creative Arts Activity Badge is just one skill they can choose to develop, and working on this badge for 6-12 months can also count towards one of the requirements for a Top Scouting Award. This means an Explorer Scout can use Warhammer Skills for this badge, a Top Scouting Award and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, all at the same time!

To find out more about Explorers, please visit the Scouting website.
